The progress report will be on our current work about quantum repeaters. Quantum repeaters aim to extend the possible distances at which we are able to communicate using quantum protocols in a safe way. Specifically, we are working on quantum repeaters based on photonic tree cluster states, particular entangled states that permit to retrieve the information also if a certain amount of photons gets lost in the communication process. We are studying the case of asymmetric geometries of these tree cluster states that should provide more efficient loss correction, and fewer resources to be implemented, in comparison to the repeater based on symmetric ones.
